Many Paths to the Shoah

Contributing Causes of the Shoah

When considering what may have cause the Shoah, the most extensive genocide in history, and the most important, it is easy to become singular in our considerations. The Politician will look at political reasons and international tensions. The Sociologist will view the interpersonal and group dynamics on all< levels; the psychologist will examine the disintegration of the Person. The historian considers the events leading up to the Shoah, the war historian considers military strategies. The Theologians debate the breakdown of the Church and its cohesion as a helping body and the economist considers the financial scenario including employment and banking issues.

Most persons, however not directly involved in these disciplines stand from a distance, horrified that such a thing could happen and try in their own philosophies and religious views to make sense of a world which could either directly cause the death of millions of innocents, or equally bewildering stand back and watch a gruesome genocide without intervention. This section will outline and discuss the many many causal events which led to the entropy of the holocaust.
