With any "Dangerous Doctrine"
there is always what social psychologists call, "a kernel of truth". This does
not mean the doctrine is true, in fact far from it---but the dogma that causes
and engenders Anti-Semitic view often prospers because it includes at its core
fundamental and core teachings, and then branches out in perverse directions, so
that the undiscerning do not immediately capture the fallacy.
Part of the problem in replacement theology, is there is an element of truth, that through Salvation in Christ we are 'grafted in' to the Vine of Israel, and that a great turning of Promise or Covenant took place when the Redeemer began to walk within instead of only 'beside'; but the notion that the Church has replaced or displaced the Nation and People of Israel is false, heretical, anti-scriptural and erroneous whether the doctrine be ancient, traditional or coming off the pages of the latest Christian Novel or best-seller. It is a Dangerous Doctrine" to be sure, and has rapidly gained wide acceptance, amidst Baptists, Evangelicals, and even some Charasmatic and Pentecostal groups.
