German Propaganda Songs

NOTE: The following songs have an anti-semitic overtone: these songs were written and used by the German Propaganda machine to try and sway mostly US and British troops/public to a pro-German attitude.

"Stormy Weather (parody)

Don't know why
I cannot blockade the sky
Stormy Weather
Since my ships and the German Planes
Got together
They're sinking all the time
O blimey, they're sinking all the time
Life is bare
Gloom and Misery everywhere
Stormy Weather
Just cant keep my poor ships together
they're sinking all the time
When I walked into Norway
The Germans came along and met me
My hair has turned to grey
now that the French are against me.
All I do is call my Royal Navy for action
to attack Frendch shilps in thier peaceful base.
Can't go on: even my truest friends are gone
Nasty Weather
Just can't keep my poor self together
I'm beaten all the time (2x)1

The Sheik of Araby

("Mr. Churchill's Latest Song

I'm afraid of Germany
Her planes are beating me
At night when I should sleep
inot the Anderson I must creep
Although I'm England's leading man
I'm led to the cellar by 10
A leader in the cellar each night---
that's the only damned way I can fight

Made in Germany---
that trademark is beating me
Everything this people do
is successful and really comes through
Although I lie and I shout
I don't know what its all about
My charming war is a tragedy
I'm at the Mercy of Germany!

Making Whoopee (parody)

Another war, another profit,
another Jewish business trick!
Another season,
Another reason
for making Whoopee!

A lot of dough, alot of gold
the British Empire is Free and sold,
We're in the Money,
thanks to Frankie (FDR)
We're makin' Whoopee!

Washington is our ghetto
Rossevelt is our king
Democracy is our motto-
think what a war can bring!

We throw our German names away
We are the kikes* of USA
You are the goys, folks, We are the boys, folks,
We're making Whoopee!.

*Kikes is a derogatory word for Jews, similar to the word 'nigger' for Afro-Americans.
